Position Overview
The Payment Escalation Specialist manages the initial steps in the payment posting process and resolves escalations related to claims and client inquiries. Working in collaboration with team members and leadership, this role ensures accurate posting, effective communication, and compliance with billing standards.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and resolve escalations from internal teams and client services.

Investigate and resolve client-reported issues via Client Success.

Support departmental training, audits, and special projects as assigned.

Post collection payments accurately and on time.

Provide clarification updates using Smartsheet and communicate findings to management.

Submit IT tickets for DevOps posting issues.

Report Client Success clarifications via email.
Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or GED required.
-
1+ year of revenue cycle experience preferred.

1+ year of payment posting experience preferred.

Knowledge of payor portals strongly preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to apply state/federal billing regulations.

Skilled in Outlook, Word, Excel (including pivot tables), and database software.

Strong time management and organizational abilities.

Physical Demands
