Payroll Specialist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Employment Terms: 12-month position (240 days) with benefits
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of payroll processing experience.
- Familiarity with general ledger and bookkeeping processes.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage interruptions effectively.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling payroll and financial data.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process employee payroll, including hours worked, overtime, and deductions, while ensuring compliance with payroll laws and district policies.
- Stay up to date on federal, state, and local payroll regulations to maintain compliance.
- Develop and maintain payroll process documentation and workflows.
- Input and manage payroll and accounting data with precision.
- Review and reconcile employee expense reports to ensure proper documentation and compliance with district policies.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Process and accurately post receipts and related transactions.
- Meet payroll deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Utilize Excel to create, update, and analyze payroll and accounting data.
- Identify and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with employees, management, and external stakeholders regarding payroll and accounting matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
