Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in processing payroll for employees across 17 countries in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with the Senior Manager of Global Payroll to ensure seamless, accurate, and compliant payroll operations, supporting our expanding global workforce.
This is a full-time position based in New York City, offering a hybrid work model—three remote workdays per week and two days in-office at our NYC location.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and review global payroll using the Deel platform, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Partner with internal teams, including HR, Finance, and regional stakeholders, to collect payroll-related data and address inquiries.
- Work closely with Deel local payroll managers to ensure smooth payroll execution across all regions.
- Stay updated on international payroll laws and compliance requirements, proactively addressing any necessary changes.
- Prepare and validate payroll reports, reconciliations, and tax filings in accordance with local regulations.
- Handle and resolve employee payroll inquiries, ensuring timely and clear communication.
- Support the implementation and optimization of payroll systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate and secure payroll records in line with company policies and legal standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a global or multi-country environment.
- Strong knowledge of international payroll regulations and tax laws across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Results-driven with strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with NetSuite (accounting software) and Deel (HRIS) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Problem-solving mindset—able to anticipate needs, think critically, and provide solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Cultural awareness and adaptability to work with diverse global teams.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $61,700 – $70,000 (based on experience, location, and applicable laws)
- Target Incentive Bonus: 10%
