As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time.
Who You Are:
You are detail-oriented, flexible, organized, and a solutions-oriented team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
What You’ll Do:
- Process time, labor, and payroll data accurately using established procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Prepare certified payrolls and monthly union reporting and payments.
- Process extra compensation, off-cycle checks, pay adjustments, and stop payments.
- Calculate, process, and report payroll taxes and deductions (garnishments, union dues, benefits).
- Import and export data across multiple systems.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute various payroll reports.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, and assist with audits.
- Complete statistical reports for various agencies.
- Communicate with HR and other departments to gather necessary payroll information.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing information and resolving issues.
- Administer and report on 401K compliance.
- Maintain the confidentiality of payroll information.
- Look for ways to improve payroll processes and procedures.
- Provide data for internal and external audits as required.
- Assist with payroll-related projects and year-end activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent training/experience.
- Two to five years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Experience with ERP and HRIS platforms (JDEdwards, Ultimate Software preferred).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- FPC or CPP certification (preferred).
- Bilingual in Spanish (written and oral communication preferred).
