A prestigious and discreet family office located on the Peninsula is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join its dedicated and close-knit team. This critical position will oversee full-cycle payroll processing across multiple business entities, manage benefits administration, and provide support for HR compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees using ADP Workforce Now, covering multiple states and business units

Maintain and update employee data, benefit deductions, and wage garnishments in ADP and PlanSource

Ensure accurate administration and monthly reconciliation of employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, disability, and retirement plans

Manage and safeguard confidential payroll and HR documentation; respond to internal and external payroll inquiries

Track and maintain records for PTO, sick leave, and other time-off policies

Complete and submit state and federal forms (e.g., EDD), manage ACA reporting, and support payroll audits and reconciliations

Partner with internal tax teams and external service providers to ensure timely and compliant payroll tax filings

Process vendor invoices related to payroll and support broader HR administrative projects

Stay current on and ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state labor laws
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred)

A minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with a focus on multi-state payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now

Strong knowledge of FLSA, payroll tax regulations, and wage and hour laws

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with PlanSource or comparable HRIS platforms

Strong auditing, reconciliation, and analytical skills

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
