Key Responsibilities
As Payroll Specialist, your day-to-day superpowers will include:

  • Assisting and serving as backup to the Payroll Accountant for bi-weekly payroll processing

  • Auditing timekeeping and payroll records, and resolving discrepancies with employees and managers

  • Providing guidance and training to staff and management on payroll procedures

  • Responding to employee inquiries and managing employment verifications (VOEs)

  • Processing bi-weekly employee expense reimbursements

  • Assisting in the preparation of journal entries and payroll-related reconciliations

  • Pulling final payroll reports and supporting quarterly audits with HR

  • Verifying appropriate earnings codes and PTO plans are applied

  • Supporting the rollout of payroll initiatives and contributing to departmental objectives

  • Participating in year-end payroll activities


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience supporting 500+ employees across multiple states

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, including garnishments and confidentiality protocols

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced team environment

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook

  • Experience with payroll systems such as UKG, Ultipro, Kronos, or ADP is preferred


Compensation

  • Hourly rate: $27.00 – $35.00, depending on experience, skills, and location

  • This position may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units

  • Base pay is one component of Funko’s total compensation package
