Position Summary
The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across multiple pay groups or entities. This role collaborates closely with our third-party payroll provider (UKG) and internal stakeholders to manage complex payroll functions, support audits, generate reports, and drive continuous process improvements. As a subject matter expert (SME), the Senior Payroll Analyst provides guidance on payroll systems, tax regulations, and best practices to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee and validate payroll processing for multiple entities on a biweekly and monthly schedule

Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies

Research and resolve complex payroll issues including garnishments, retroactive pay, off-cycle payments, and adjustments

Act as a liaison between HR, Finance, IT, shared services, and external payroll providers

Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll reports, journal entries, and payroll registers

Provide support for internal and external audits, supplying required documentation and analysis

Lead or contribute to payroll-related projects, including system enhancements, vendor transitions, and automation initiatives

Train and mentor HR team members to ensure consistent processes and knowledge sharing

Continuously assess and refine payroll procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance

Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred)

5+ years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead-level role

Hands-on experience with large-scale payroll platforms such as UKG, ADP, Workday, SAP, or Oracle

Experience managing multi-state and/or international payrolls is preferred

Proficiency in Excel and experience with payroll reporting tools
