Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage and oversee the payroll processes for our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain employee records, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, including calculating wages, bonuses, sales commissions, and deductions.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Verify and reconcile payroll discrepancies, resolving any issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, including tax filings and year-end reports (W-2s, 1099s).
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and benefits integration.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions.
  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of payroll processes and systems.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Process weekly and monthly payroll journal entries and accruals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of payroll software (experience with Paycom preferred).

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.

Skills:

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Certifications: Payroll Certifications welcomed

Working Conditions:

Work Environment: In-office environment

Physical Requirements: No specific physical demands.

Work Schedule: Standard business hours. May require extended hours during payroll cycles or year-end processing.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
