Role Overview

The Payroll Specialist will join Labcorp’s dynamic payroll team to manage UK payroll operations. This fully remote role involves processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring statutory compliance, and collaborating with HR and payroll vendors to support seamless payroll processes. You will also help drive process improvements and maintain documentation for payroll procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Compliance

  • Collect, verify, and process payroll data according to prescribed timetables.

  • Work closely with Payroll Providers and HR COEs to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.

  • Verify payroll output and review with Payroll Team Leader or Manager.

  • Ensure timely net salary payments, payslip distribution, and resolution of payroll queries.

  • Reconcile payroll results and prepare payroll journals.

  • Monitor legislative changes and implement updates to payroll processes.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Perform routine and ad hoc data retrieval, analysis, and reporting.

  • Prepare monthly pension contribution reporting and reconcile against payroll results.

  • Support year-end reporting and other PAYE requirements.

  • Participate in payroll project implementations, testing compliance, and resolving system issues.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Identify and execute payroll process improvements.

  • Maintain payroll procedures and documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve tax/social security compliance matters.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Experience:

    • 3+ years in payroll, preferably UK payroll; international payroll experience a plus.

    • Proficient with large datasets and payroll software; experience with global teams.

  • Skills:

    • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

    • Problem-solving, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

    • Excellent verbal and written English communication.

    • Ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
