Job Purpose
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees using UKG Now, including new hire setup, bi-weekly payroll, commissions, bonuses, deductions, terminations, and compliance reporting. The role also supports finance and audit-related activities.
Key Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure accurate paycheck/direct deposit issuance.

Validate new hire setups and timecard imports.

Manage court-ordered deductions, terminations, commissions, and bonus runs.

Administer employee benefits deductions per tax laws and regulations.

Prepare annual W-2 statements for current and former employees.

Ensure compliance with FLSA, DOL, and multi-state payroll regulations.

Run BI reports and maintain monthly payroll metrics.

Assist with tax reconciliation, state notices, and UKG setup.

Provide training to new hires and managers on payroll and timecard processes.

Support Finance team with expense audits, journal entries, and other tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Expertise in UKG payroll processing (PRO and Workforce Management, not UltiPro).

Strong communication skills to interact with all employee levels.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and attention to detail.

Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.

Team player, cooperative, and adaptable.
Qualifications
Minimum:
-
High School diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education/experience)

6+ years payroll experience

3+ years using UKG
Preferred:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Experience with multi-state payroll processing and compliance
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers for computers and office equipment.

Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
