Job Overview:

Accenture is hiring a Payroll Tax Lead to support payroll tax compliance during venture & acquisition (V&A) activities and client deal integrations. This role is responsible for integrating payroll tax operations of newly acquired companies, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and developing scalable, standardized tax practices consistent with Accenture policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead payroll tax due diligence during acquisitions, reviewing practices, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions

  • Coordinate integration of payroll tax records and processes post-acquisition

  • Maintain expertise in federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations

  • Collaborate with Global Payroll, HR, Benefits, Legal, Controllership, and V&A teams to align compliance with business strategies

  • Implement scalable and compliant payroll tax processes across entities

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes

  • Liaise with external payroll tax vendors and service providers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of audit experience

  • Minimum 4 years of payroll tax compliance experience, preferably in multi-entity or V&A-heavy environments

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in multi-state and federal payroll tax compliance

  • Experience in V&A due diligence and integration projects

  • Ability to implement tax controls in evolving environments

  • Strong technology aptitude and payroll acumen

  • CPP (U.S.) or PCP (Canada) certification preferred but not required

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Compensation Range (by location):

  • California: $63,800 – $145,400

  • Colorado: $63,800 – $125,600

  • District of Columbia: $68,000 – $133,700

  • Illinois: $59,100 – $125,600

  • Minnesota: $63,800 – $125,600

  • Maryland: $63,800 – $125,600

  • New York/New Jersey: $59,100 – $145,400

  • Washington: $68,000 – $133,700
