About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated Payroll Trainee to join our Payroll Bureau team. You’ll be responsible for supporting weekly and monthly payroll delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and outstanding customer service. This is an excellent entry-level career development opportunity, with a clear pathway to becoming a Payroll Specialist or progressing into other departments within Fourth.
Key Responsibilities

Process weekly and monthly payrolls for a set portfolio of customers.

Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, meeting Bureau service targets.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as the first point of contact for payroll queries.

Manage payroll data submissions, reconciliations, and ensure all payrolls balance.

Respond to customer queries via phone and email with professionalism and accuracy.

Maintain up-to-date payroll procedure manuals.

Communicate key payroll dates (e.g., Easter, Christmas, year-start pay dates).

Support surveys and feedback collection from customers.
Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an office environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

GCSE-level education, including Maths and English.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Interest in developing payroll knowledge and advancing into specialist roles.
