Position Summary
We are now accepting applications for certified Special Education Substitute Teachers to support students across Pennsylvania for the 2025–2026 school year. Working remotely from a secure, distraction-free home office, you’ll collaborate with students, parents, and school staff to help learners meet their academic and individualized education goals.
Assignments typically range from 2 to 20 weeks (average 8–12 weeks). This is a part-time position with no benefits.
Key Responsibilities

Be available Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (ET) during assignments.

Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to monitor learning progress.

Grade assignments, prepare progress reports, and hold parent-teacher conferences.

Deliver engaging online lessons (synchronous and asynchronous).

Adapt teaching methods for students with IEPs and 504 plans in a virtual setting.

Collaborate with general educators and service providers to ensure compliance with IEP goals.

Maintain accurate records, including attendance, logs, and IEP documentation.

Attend IEP meetings and contribute to student progress tracking.

Stay updated on placement opportunities and participate in required supervisor meetings.

Complete professional learning and maintain active Pennsylvania teaching certification(s).
Qualifications

Current, active Pennsylvania teaching certificate with Special Education certification (required).

Additional PA certifications (e.g., Elementary, Math, Science, English, Social Studies) are a plus.

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Strong knowledge of IEP and 504 implementation.

Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Proficiency in technology tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and LMS platforms.

Reliable high-speed internet and a Microsoft OS/Office-equipped computer (PC preferred).

Must not provide caregiving or hold another job during instructional hours.

Completion of mandatory orientation/training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.

Availability for occasional evening meetings or family support sessions.
