Job Summary

As a People Analytics Data Scientist, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of HR and workforce analytics at Baylor Scott & White Health—the largest nonprofit healthcare system in Texas. This role empowers you to design advanced, action-oriented data science solutions that enhance employee engagement, patient outcomes, and financial performance. It’s an ideal opportunity for a visionary, self-driven data scientist who thrives on building transformative solutions, influencing leadership decisions, and turning insights into measurable change.

Role Overview

You will design and deliver scalable, innovative analytics using advanced methodologies such as causal inference, observational experimentation, predictive modeling, and agentic AI. Your work will connect employee experiences directly to organizational outcomes, embedding actionable insights into leadership decisions. You will also mentor junior colleagues and elevate analytics practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead analytical projects that transform HR data into actionable insights tied to workforce and business outcomes.

  • Apply advanced techniques—causal inference, experimentation, predictive modeling, and AI-driven solutions—to drive organizational improvement.

  • Build decision frameworks that accelerate time to insight and time to action.

  • Develop agentic AI solutions to inspire and guide leaders toward evidence-based decisions.

  • Translate complex data into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Identify new opportunities where data can improve HR, clinical, and financial outcomes.

  • Mentor junior team members in technical, strategic, and storytelling skills.

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.

  • Proven experience leading end-to-end data science projects in HR, healthcare, or related domains.

  • Expertise in causal inference, observational studies, and experimentation.

  • Proficiency with Python, R, SQL, and cloud-based platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of machine learning, predictive modeling, and emerging approaches like agentic AI.

  • Exceptional communication and influence skills with leadership.

  • Demonstrated mentoring and coaching experience.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in healthcare, hospital systems, or regulated industries.

  • Experience integrating insights directly into workflows or decision-support tools.

  • Knowledge of workforce strategy, HR analytics, or organizational effectiveness.

What Makes This Role Unique

  • Pioneering agentic AI and human-centered data science in healthcare HR.

  • Direct impact on workforce challenges and patient outcomes.

  • High visibility and influence across organizational leadership.

  • A mandate to shape strategy and action, not just analytics.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s + 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in data science.

Compensation

  • Hourly Pay Range: $47.41 – $84.42

  • Annual Salary Range: $98,612 – $175,593
(Specific pay based on qualifications and experience.)
