Per Diem Pharmacist

Essential Job Functions

• Educate and support patients in understanding their medications and treatment plans.

• Lead and manage staff pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, providing ongoing training to address knowledge gaps and foster professional development.

• Oversee all aspects of daily pharmacy operations, including:

  • Patient safety and care

  • Professional practice standards

  • Regulatory compliance

  • Quality assurance

  • Customer service excellence

  • Staff supervision

  • Inventory control

  • Financial performance and loss prevention

  • Workflow efficiency

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) regulations.

• Ensure full adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.

• Enforce compliance with facility-specific policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.

• Active pharmacist license and certifications as required by federal and state laws in the practicing state.

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably retail; familiarity with 340B is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Outstanding patient service and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
