Position: Pharmacist Resident (PGY2) – Match Progress

Position Overview

Nebraska Medicine is now accepting applications for a Pharmacist Resident (PGY2) position. This opportunity is open to candidates participating in the ASHP Resident Matching Program through National Matching Services.

Our PGY2 residency program is designed to expand upon your Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 training, equipping you with the advanced knowledge, skills, and clinical competencies required for specialized patient care. Graduates of this program are well-prepared for board certification and leadership roles within their field.

As a resident, you will be a vital part of the interdisciplinary care team, delivering pharmacy services in designated clinical areas and proactively ensuring optimal pharmaceutical care. You will also play a key role in continuous quality improvement efforts aligned with professional standards.

Required Qualifications

  • PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited program (or in the process of accreditation) by the residency start date

  • Completion of a PGY1 residency accredited by ASHP (or in candidate status)

  • Matched to Nebraska Medicine through the ASHP Matching Program (Phase I, II, or Post-Match) or accepted via Early Commitment

  • Eligibility for pharmacist licensure in Nebraska by the start of the program, with full licensure required per residency policy

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities

  • Willingness and ability to work an average of 60 hours per week, across varying shifts

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
