Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Pharmacist will play a critical role in interpreting prescriptions, monitoring drug interactions and allergies, preparing and dispensing medications, and providing clinical support and drug information to patients and healthcare professionals. This role also involves oversight of pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and accurate medication preparation and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately dispense prescriptions and verify all medication orders for inpatients.

Prepare and supervise the preparation of sterile products including IV admixtures, parenteral nutrition, and chemotherapy agents.

Monitor for drug interactions, contraindications, and therapeutic duplications.

Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding medication handling and distribution.

Direct, supervise, and validate work performed by pharmacy technicians, interns, and volunteers.

Respond to clinical inquiries and provide drug information to physicians, nurses, and staff.

Participate in patient care by performing clinical pharmacy activities as defined by department protocols.

Contribute to departmental education by providing in-service training and drug updates.

Attend departmental meetings and participate on relevant committees.

Maintain required competencies, including IV admixture skills and clinical knowledge.
Physical & Sensory Requirements:

Mobility: Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Manual Dexterity: Frequent fingering, grasping, and handling of medications and equipment.

Lifting: Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs, carry up to 35 lbs, and push up to 200 lbs.

Postures: Stooping, bending, crouching, and reaching.

Vision & Hearing: Adequate for reading, medication preparation, and communication in clinical settings.
Qualifications:

Education: B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited program (5–6 years depending on state).

Licensure: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in Pennsylvania. Pending licensure may be considered.

Continuing Education: Must fulfill state-mandated CE requirements (30 hours every 2 years).

Experience: Recent graduates welcome. Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Proficiency with pharmacy systems and technology is a plus.
