Position Overview
We are currently seeking a licensed and experienced Pharmacist to join the healthcare team at South Brooklyn Health in Brooklyn, New York. This is a full-time contract role with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek and the potential for extension beyond the initial 13-week duration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy operations, including sterile processing and IV room procedures, and be comfortable working across various shifts in a hospital or clinical environment.

Work Schedule
This position follows a rotating shift schedule consisting of five (5) 8-hour shifts per week, which may include:

Day shifts

Evening shifts

Overnight (midnight) shifts

Monday through Friday (some flexibility may be required)
Key Responsibilities

Accurately interpret and process medication orders from licensed healthcare providers.

Prepare, compound, and dispense medications in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Utilize and maintain sterile techniques in the IV room and ensure compliance with USP <797> standards.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication management.

Operate pharmacy dispensing systems and contribute to inventory control, medication storage, and distribution.

Use electronic medical records (EMR) systems to review, update, and document medication-related information.

Ensure adherence to all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements in pharmacy operations.

Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other staff as needed.
Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure:
-
Must possess a valid and active Pharmacist license issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

Primary Source Verification of licensure is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Demonstrated experience with sterile processing, IV room procedures, and pharmacy dispensing systems is preferred.

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is strongly preferred.

Commute Requirement: Must be able to reliably commute to South Brooklyn Health, Brooklyn, NY 11235.

Relocation Requirement: Candidates must be able to relocate to Brooklyn, NY prior to the start of the assignment, if not already local.
