Position Summary
As an Assistant Pharmacy Manager, you will help lead a team committed to delivering exceptional customer service while supporting pharmacy operations, supervising technicians, and providing patient consultations. You’ll play a vital role in achieving departmental sales and profit goals, upholding quality standards, and maintaining compliance with state, federal, and company policies. This position requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and a patient-first mindset, all while upholding Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately fulfill prescriptions while providing expert pharmaceutical care and patient counseling.

  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA and all state, federal, and local pharmacy regulations.

  • Maintain a professional image through personal conduct and upkeep of the pharmacy area.

  • Build strong relationships with customers, employees, and vendors to reinforce a service-driven department.

  • Oversee stock levels, inventory control, compliance procedures, scheduling, sanitation, and security measures.

  • Monitor and maintain proper records for controlled substances and product recalls.

  • Use all pharmacy tools and audits effectively, including accuracy scanners and 24-hour post-dispensing reviews.

  • Keep pharmacy equipment and signage in working order and up to date.

  • Ensure all reference materials, manuals, and state regulations are organized and accessible.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, PharmD, or equivalent foreign credentials recognized by the Board of Pharmacy

  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the relevant state

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of retail pharmacy experience
