Summary
This role is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations related to prescription dispensing. The Pharmacist ensures accuracy in medication preparation and provides direct patient care, including counseling on prescriptions, compounded medications, and over-the-counter products.


Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Supervise pharmacy personnel and operations during assigned shifts.

  • Support shipping and handling of prescription orders as needed.

  • Ensure prescriptions are processed accurately according to prescriber and patient requirements.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain adherence to applicable laws and regulations governing pharmaceutical preparation and dispensing.

  • Ensure accuracy, proper technique, and thorough documentation for all dispensed medications.

  • Follow company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Employee Handbook guidelines.

Patient Care & Counseling

  • Assess patient demographics and medication history to ensure appropriate therapeutic regimens.

  • Develop and monitor individualized care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Evaluate prescriptions for proper drug use, dosage, form, frequency, and potential interactions or duplications.

  • Provide detailed counseling on prescriptions, OTC medications, and supplements.

  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals to confirm prescription accuracy.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and pharmacy software (e.g., The Compounder/PK).

  • Familiarity with QS-1 software is a plus.

  • Capable of operating standard office equipment (fax, copier, phone).

  • Understanding of third-party insurance billing processes.


Schedule Availability

  • Saturday–Sunday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM: 3 positions

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM: 1 position

  • Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM: 2 positions


Education & Licensing Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.

  • Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license; additional state licenses may be required upon request.
