Job Summary
The Overnight Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, effective, and cost-efficient drug therapy to pediatric patients. This role supports physicians, nurses, and families with expert medication information, oversees pharmacy technician activities, and ensures compliance with all standards and regulations. The position follows a 7 on / 7 off overnight schedule.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure safe, optimal, and cost-effective drug utilization for pediatric patients.

Oversee and guide pharmacy technicians in daily operations.

Conduct clinical and pharmacoeconomic research to support evidence-based practice.

Provide expert medication education and consultation to patients, families, and staff.

Participate in interdisciplinary care teams across critical care, oncology, emergency medicine, and ambulatory services.

Document interventions, medication errors, and adverse drug events per policy.

Maintain compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations.

Support clinical education for pharmacy students and residents.
Qualifications

Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College/School of Pharmacy OR a foreign equivalent with FPGEE/FPGEC certification (required).

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.

Licensed (or eligible within 3 months) to practice pharmacy in Minnesota (required).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current or within 3 months of hire (required).

Institutional or retail pharmacy experience (preferred).

Pediatric Residency or equivalent pediatric clinical experience (preferred).

Overnight schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
