Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, the largest and most comprehensive cancer care provider in Colorado, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist at our Denver Rose Oral Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense specialty medications while maintaining and reviewing patient profiles and comprehensive drug data to ensure compatibility.
  • Verify all medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper physician authorization. Ensure medications are prepared in accordance with OSHA and internal guidelines.
  • Confirm the correct preparation of all formulas and prescriptions, checking for completeness and accuracy. Calculate correct dosages, converting between metric and apothecary measurements as needed.
  • Manage and oversee pharmacy technicians, verifying medication preparation, labeling, order entries, charges, and inspections.
  • Provide pharmacological expertise by responding to inquiries from healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring proper drug counseling and documentation.
  • Consult with patients to assess pre-existing conditions and ensure medication compatibility. Educate patients on food and alcohol interactions, potential side effects, and medication usage.
  • Offer professional drug information and support to medical staff while participating in pharmacy teaching and in-service programs.
  • Maintain accurate records by logging and dating all medications in use, conducting monthly checks for expired drugs, and keeping precise temperature logs.
  • Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies and medications, receiving and shelving inventory, and ensuring adequate drug stock in all departments.
  • Prepare prescription labels, process billing, compute prices, and document patient assistance and protocol drugs.
  • Stay up to date on new drug information through interactions with pharmaceutical representatives.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient and medical staff information, and generate reports and monitoring activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of pharmacy with active state licensure.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a registered pharmacist.
  • Oncology experience preferred.
  • Current pharmacist license in the state of practice.
