Pharmacist – Walgreens

Job Overview

As a Walgreens Pharmacist, you will provide expert medication guidance, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction while offering clinical healthcare services such as immunizations and diagnostic testing. You will be responsible for dispensing prescriptions, maintaining regulatory compliance, optimizing pharmacy operations, and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Consultation

  • Offer personalized medication counseling, addressing usage, side effects, and interactions.

  • Provide clinical services, including immunizations and health screenings.

  • Enhance patient experience by promoting Walgreens’ healthcare offerings.

Pharmacy Operations

  • Accurately compound, dispense, and verify prescriptions.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.

  • Manage inventory, insurance claims, and workflow efficiency.

  • Assist the Pharmacy Manager in performance analysis and process improvements.

Leadership & Development

  • Support hiring, training, and mentoring of pharmacy staff.

  • Promote teamwork, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency.

Compliance & Community Engagement

  • Maintain adherence to Good Faith Dispensing policies and controlled substance laws.

  • Build relationships with local healthcare providers and participate in community outreach.

Qualifications

Required:

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.

  • Active pharmacist license in the state of practice.

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.

  • Certified Immunizer or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days.

Preferred:

  • 1+ years of retail pharmacy experience, including prescription processing, compliance, and insurance handling.
