Responsibilities

  • Review and assess the selection of evidence-based and therapeutically appropriate anticancer therapies.

  • Evaluate pathology reports, laboratory values, and concurrent medications for their appropriateness and potential medication-related issues.

  • Monitor, manage, and assess adverse reactions or toxicities from anticancer therapy.

  • Assess and oversee primary and secondary supportive care elements to be included in anticancer therapy protocols.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for medication-related inquiries and provide preceptorship to pharmacy and medical students or residents.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on anticancer therapy, supportive care medications, symptom management, adherence, and safe practices for medication handling, administration, and disposal.

  • Collaborate with clinic staff to connect patients with MultiCare Specialty Pharmacy resources.

Requirements

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Washington State. If not currently licensed, must obtain a Washington State Pharmacist License within 90 days of employment.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a pharmacist in an oncology setting (required).

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency (preferred).

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology (preferred).

  • BCOP (Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist) certification (preferred).
