Salary Information
The salary range provided is an estimate. Cardinal Health’s compensation is influenced by factors such as geographical location, education, experience, skills, and internal pay equity.
Schedule
Various schedules may apply, including a mix of days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.
Responsibilities

Take telephone orders from customers, learning the Order Receipt and Order Entry systems, and understanding customer preferences, drug names, dosages, and dose specifications.

Understand and adhere to state laws and regulations related to radioactive orders and prescriptions.

Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals according to prescription and regulatory requirements (Company, State, and Federal).

Supervise Nuclear Pharmacy Technicians, where permitted by law, in the preparation and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals.

Perform quality control tests and package doses for shipping to customers as per prescriptions and regulatory standards.

Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength, and perform necessary preparations like white blood cell labeling.

Handle inventory and regulatory programs, ensuring proper check-in and packaging procedures. Maintain stock room organization and implement 5S methodology.

Engage with customers by shadowing a customer site and participating in ride-alongs with sales consultants. Collect and enter Customer Impact Data and conduct monthly reviews of the Pharmacy Scorecard.

May serve as the Pharmacist in Charge if required.

Train newly hired pharmacy associates as needed.

Perform other duties to meet department goals, including delivering doses when necessary.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and/or PharmD required.

Valid Pharmacist’s license in the state of pharmacy operation, or in the process of obtaining it.

Completion of at least 200 hours of academic training in a nuclear pharmacy through an accredited program.

Knowledge of biohazardous waste management procedures.
-
Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).

Manual dexterity for tasks such as dispensing doses and occasional lifting or reaching.

Ability to lift containers up to 75 pounds.
-
Valid driver’s license and comfort with driving in various weather conditions.

Flexibility to work various shifts, overtime, weekends, and on-call duties as needed.

Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets).

Prior Authorized User certification is preferred. Nuclear Pharmacy training can be provided.
