Position Summary:
Ma’at Enterprises is currently seeking qualified Registered Pharmacists (RPh) to provide essential pharmaceutical care and clinical support at the Indian Health Service (IHS) Gallup Indian Medical Center. This position is a unique opportunity to serve a diverse patient population and contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven healthcare environment.
Pharmacists will work as part of a multidisciplinary care team, ensuring optimal pharmacotherapy, medication adherence, and patient education. The role includes both clinical and dispensing responsibilities to support comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Pharmacy Services

Evaluate and verify the appropriateness of prescribed pharmacotherapy in alignment with the patient’s overall healthcare plan.

Use clinical expertise to communicate treatment recommendations to both healthcare teams and patients.

Assess a patient’s understanding of and ability to follow the treatment plan, providing individualized counseling and education to promote adherence.

Identify potential barriers to compliance and collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to develop viable solutions.

Monitor therapeutic outcomes and make clinical adjustments or recommendations as necessary.

Ensure patients have access to appropriate medications and refills between visits.

Immediately report any clinical concerns or adverse events to the supervisory pharmacist.
Dispensing & Operational Duties

Review prescriptions or medication orders for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, drug interactions, and completeness.

Perform or oversee the accurate preparation, compounding, labeling, and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

Enter prescription data, generate labels, and verify all information before dispensing.

Counsel patients on their medications, including generic substitutions or therapeutic interchanges, and provide relevant educational materials.

Supervise or directly manage the delivery of medications to patients, ensuring legal compliance with counseling requirements and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or a recognized accrediting body approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in any U.S. state, territory, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
