About the Role: Oncology Outpatient Pharmacist (Hybrid)
As a hybrid Oncology Outpatient Pharmacist at the Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, you will deliver comprehensive, direct patient care to individuals with leukemia, lymphoma, and other cancers. Responsibilities include therapeutic drug monitoring, managing pharmacy-led protocols, reviewing chemotherapy orders, supervising sterile compounding activities, and providing drug information to optimize therapy. You will also play a key role in reviewing research protocols and overseeing investigational medications.

Additionally, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of oncology diagnosis-related group guidelines and drug monographs, presenting quarterly updates to the Oncology Pharmacy and Therapeutics Subcommittee. You will also support the expanding oral chemotherapy specialty pharmacy program by providing patient education and follow-up.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or equivalent from an accredited U.S. School of Pharmacy

  • Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent clinical experience

License/Certification Requirements:

  • Active pharmacist license issued by the State of California

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, per Pharmacy Policy and Procedure on CPR and Code Blue

What We’re Looking For:

  • PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency completion or equivalent experience

  • Deep knowledge of pharmacological and biopharmaceutical principles

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, common disease states, and patient management plans

  • Ability to assess patient information and integrate it into care plans

  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication

  • Skills in teaching and preceptorship for pharmacy training programs

  • Expertise in pharmaceutical calculations, compounding, and pharmacokinetics

  • Experience with laws, regulations, and standards governing pharmacy practice

  • Flexibility to adapt to changes and prioritize workflow

  • Ability to leverage automated information systems in daily practice

  • Patient-centered communication skills and strong computer proficiency
