We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pharmacy Logistics Supervisor – Band 4 to join our dynamic Logistics team at North Bristol NHS Trust. Key Responsibilities:
Pharmacy Logistics Supervisor – Band 4: Logistics & Supervision Duties

Oversee day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Logistics team under the guidance of the Logistics Co-Ordinator and Lead Technician.

Supervise Band 2 and Band 3 Pharmacy Assistants, ensuring safe and efficient management of medicinal stock and logistics workflows.

Manage staff rotas, task delegation, and operational support for the wider Distribution team in the absence of the Distribution Supervisor.
HR & Compliance

Support HR-related tasks including staff appraisals, sickness management, and recruitment processes.

Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (EU GDP 2015/C 95/01), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Wholesale Distribution Authorization (WDA(h)) requirements.
Main Duties of the Job:
Core Operational Responsibilities

Coordinate the safe transportation of pharmaceutical products across the hospital estate and to external sites using approved couriers and porters.

Maintain accurate databases and ensure effective storage and secure handling of all Pharmacy stock both within the Pharmacy and at ward level.

Support regular audits of medication storage (ambient and refrigerated) and handle returned medication processing.
Pharmacy Logistics Supervisor – Band 4: Leadership & Team Management

Provide guidance and training to Pharmacy and Distribution staff, ensuring workloads are appropriately prioritized and completed daily.

Act as a key contact for internal and external communication, including liaising with patients and relatives about medication deliveries.

Receive full training for supervisory duties, including HR processes like absence management and return-to-work support.
Person Specification:
Education & Training:
-
Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above)
-
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
-
Management & Leadership training or willingness to work towards it

Formal HR training or willingness to complete
Experience:
-
Previous experience in pharmacy logistics, distribution, or stock management

Supervisory experience managing a team of 2+ staff

Desirable: NHS work experience

Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills

Proactive, methodical, and able to work flexibly under pressure

Awareness of GDP, GDPR, and WDA(h) regulations (training provided)
