About Our Health System
North Memorial Health includes two hospital campuses—Robbinsdale Hospital and Maple Grove Hospital—as well as a network of 25 clinics, which features 13 primary care sites, 6 specialty clinics, 4 urgent care/urgency centers, and emergency services across five counties.

Robbinsdale Hospital: Established in 1954, it’s a 385-bed facility and has been the region’s top Level I Trauma Center for 25 years, also operating a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.

Maple Grove Hospital: Opened in 2009 with 134 beds, it is a state leader in Women and Children’s Care, housing a Level III NICU and the largest Family Birth Center in Minnesota, with 5,000+ deliveries annually.
Both hospitals earned accolades including placement on the 2022 Fortune/Merative 100 Top Hospitals® list and the 2023 Women’s Choice Award Best Hospitals list.
Pharmacy Residency Program Overview
We offer a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency designed to provide comprehensive training in hospital-based pharmacy practice. This program builds upon your Pharm.D. education to develop skilled clinical pharmacists capable of managing diverse patient care needs. Graduates are prepared for careers in acute care, academia, or advanced training through PGY2 residencies or fellowships.
Residency Objectives:

Gain a deep understanding of the medication-use process in a community hospital.

Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Achieve proficiency in managing drug therapy for a variety of patient populations.

Participate in pharmacy leadership initiatives.

Educate patients and healthcare professionals on medication safety and use.

Integrate medical informatics into pharmaceutical practice.
Qualifications
Education:
-
Graduate or pending graduate from an ACPE-accredited Pharm.D. program, or hold a FPGEC certificate from NABP.

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota.
Preferred Experience:

Prior pharmacy-related work experience is desirable.

Candidates must participate in the ASHP Pharmacy Resident Matching Program.
Skills & Abilities:

Strong computer and keyboard proficiency.

Excellent problem-solving and communication (verbal and written) abilities.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
