About the Job

The Physical Therapist I is responsible for providing patient care through comprehensive evaluation, development and implementation of treatment plans, patient and family education, and coordination of discharge planning. The goal is to help patients achieve their highest possible level of functional independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients, continuously monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans and goals as needed.

  • Complete detailed and timely clinical documentation, ensuring accuracy in charge entry and understanding of reimbursement processes relevant to the care setting.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, colleagues, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Educate patients, families, and staff as needed.

  • Supervise support staff, students, and volunteers.

  • Maintain and enhance clinical expertise through continuing education and evidence-based practice.

  • Mentor peers by sharing knowledge and contributing to skill development. Adhere to organizational, state, and national regulatory standards.

  • Stay aligned with organizational goals and integrate those into daily responsibilities and personal development objectives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience

  • Experience: Less than one year of professional experience required

  • Licensure/Certification:

    • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT)

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer)
