Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize independence for patients with disabilities, disease, or injury.

  • Organize and conduct medically prescribed therapy programs.

  • Direct and supervise physical therapist assistants and students.

  • Recognize stroke symptoms, call stroke alerts, and follow stroke alert processes.

  • Complete consults and reassessments within 24 hours of admission or once medically stable.

  • Stay current on stroke knowledge through required annual training.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (B.S., M.S., or approved certification program).

  • Licensed in the state of Florida.

  • BLS certification (AHA required).
