Physical Therapist/Clinical Associate (Neurological) – Program in Physical Therapy

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist provides patient-centered care through comprehensive evaluations, treatment planning, therapy interventions, and patient/family education. This role emphasizes collaboration, evidence-based practice, and open communication within a team framework. The caseload primarily includes outpatient neurological and neuromuscular conditions.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients using medical diagnosis and movement system framework.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on findings, comorbidities, goals, and prognosis.

  • Document care clearly, accurately, and on time per policy and compliance standards.

  • Educate patients and families on therapy, diagnosis, activities, and home programs.

  • Communicate progress with patients, families, and referring providers.

  • Provide referrals for community resources and necessary medical equipment.

  • Attend departmental meetings, training, and continuing education.

  • Maintain safe and clean work environment, adhering to infection-control policies.

  • Manage a full patient caseload and notify supervisors of schedule/caseload concerns.

  • Collaborate with team members to foster efficiency and positive work culture.

  • Adhere to state practice acts, ethical standards, and professional codes of conduct.

  • May contribute to teaching within the Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum.

Working Conditions

  • Setting: Outpatient direct patient care & office environment

  • Exposure: Blood-borne pathogens (protective devices required)

  • Physical Effort:

    • Lifting 25–50 lbs occasionally; 25 lbs frequently

    • Push/pull with moderate force

    • Fine motor coordination (typing, writing, assisting patients)

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy

  • Current or eligible licensure in Missouri and/or Illinois as a Physical Therapist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross; must include in-person skills assessment, obtained within 1 month of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree

  • Skills in: adaptability, caseload management, patient counseling, teamwork, prioritization, problem-solving, written & oral communication, and evidence-based practice

Salary & Grade

  • Grade: C13

  • Salary Range: $68,100 – $105,500 annually
