Position Summary
The Physical Therapist provides patient-centered care through comprehensive evaluations, treatment planning, therapy interventions, and patient/family education. This role emphasizes collaboration, evidence-based practice, and open communication within a team framework. The caseload primarily includes outpatient neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Evaluate patients using medical diagnosis and movement system framework.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on findings, comorbidities, goals, and prognosis.

Document care clearly, accurately, and on time per policy and compliance standards.

Educate patients and families on therapy, diagnosis, activities, and home programs.

Communicate progress with patients, families, and referring providers.

Provide referrals for community resources and necessary medical equipment.

Attend departmental meetings, training, and continuing education.

Maintain safe and clean work environment, adhering to infection-control policies.

Manage a full patient caseload and notify supervisors of schedule/caseload concerns.

Collaborate with team members to foster efficiency and positive work culture.

Adhere to state practice acts, ethical standards, and professional codes of conduct.

May contribute to teaching within the Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum.
Working Conditions

Setting: Outpatient direct patient care & office environment

Exposure: Blood-borne pathogens (protective devices required)

Lifting 25–50 lbs occasionally; 25 lbs frequently

Push/pull with moderate force

Fine motor coordination (typing, writing, assisting patients)

Required Qualifications
-
Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy

Current or eligible licensure in Missouri and/or Illinois as a Physical Therapist

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross; must include in-person skills assessment, obtained within 1 month of hire)
Preferred Qualifications

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree

Skills in: adaptability, caseload management, patient counseling, teamwork, prioritization, problem-solving, written & oral communication, and evidence-based practice
Salary & Grade

Grade: C13

Salary Range: $68,100 – $105,500 annually
