General Summary

NMPRC is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to join our patient care team in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting. As a Physical Therapist, you will provide rehabilitation services to help patients recover and maintain their independence and mobility. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient, and passionate about supporting patients in their recovery journey. You will create personalized treatment plans, including exercises and techniques, to promote effective recovery, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. The right candidate will work well with an interdisciplinary team, encouraging patients toward greater independence and recovery.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

In-depth knowledge of ethical practices in Physical Therapy
Expertise in assessment, planning, and treatment for patients with mental health conditions or developmental and physical disabilities
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team
Strong clinical skills in patient advocacy, treatment planning, and implementation

Minimum Required Qualifications

A current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Missouri
At least 2 years of experience in the field
BS or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (with AED)

Other Qualifications

Compassion and empathy for patients in a psychiatric inpatient setting
Physical stamina for lifting patients and performing exercises
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and clinical staff
Ability to conduct thorough physical therapy evaluations and ongoing assessments in accordance with APTA and state standards
Ability to implement and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and needs
Experience in evaluating mobility, strength, and function to set realistic and achievable goals for patient improvement
Commitment to maintaining updated knowledge of physical therapy assessments and techniques
