Job Summary

DHR Health in Alamo, Texas, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will evaluate, plan, and administer therapy treatments prescribed by a physician to help patients restore function, prevent disability, and achieve their highest level of independence. You will also supervise support staff, contribute to departmental operations, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Education & Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy (required)

  • Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Texas (required)

  • Current BLS certification (required)

  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Outpatient rehabilitation experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at DHR Health, you will:

  • Promote and uphold the mission, vision, and values of DHR Health.

  • Perform thorough assessments, create individualized treatment plans, and conduct reassessments as needed.

  • Administer therapy modalities, evaluate treatment outcomes, and collaborate with physicians when appropriate.

  • Supervise and support Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and maintain a clean, organized department.

  • Educate patients and families about care plans while respecting cultural and individual needs.

  • Assist with staff orientation, training, and educational programs.

  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines, infection control practices, and the APTA Code of Ethics.

  • Remain flexible, professional, and effective in high-pressure situations.

Job Knowledge & Experience

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and rehabilitation techniques.

  • Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique, proper body mechanics, and safe equipment use.

  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to respond effectively during emergencies.

  • Awareness of state practice laws, HIPAA compliance, and regulatory standards.

  • Basic computer and professional communication skills.

  1. Associate Program Director

  2. Director of Physical Therapy
