Responsibilities
Key Duties of the Physical Therapist Technician:

  • Prepare and disinfect treatment areas before and after patient sessions

  • Understand and assist with therapeutic equipment such as exercise bikes, pulley systems, medicine balls, weights, and therapy benches as directed by the Physical Therapist

  • Set up hydrotherapy tanks, paraffin baths, and hot/cold packs

  • Assist patients in removing or applying braces, slings, or splints before and after treatment

  • Support Physical Therapists or Physical Therapy Assistants during mobility or gait training sessions

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and the care team

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Prior experience in a healthcare or fitness setting preferred, but not required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Passion for patient care and a collaborative mindset
