Physician (Independent Contractor) – San Jose, CA

Chenega Tri-Services is seeking a 1099 Independent Contractor Physician to provide medical evaluations, including histories, physical examinations, and reviews of medical tests and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct medical histories and physical exams.

  • Assess medical documentation and determine applicant fitness for service.

  • Apply medical standards for accession and military suitability.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and military policies.

  • Maintain professionalism and applicant dignity in all interactions.

  • Participate in local medical peer reviews.

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO from an LCME- or COCA-accredited medical school.

  • Residency training accredited by ACGME or AOA OR recent direct patient care experience (within the last 3 years).

  • Unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.

  • ECFMG certification required for foreign medical graduates.

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (must include hands-on training).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in electronic medical documentation.

  • Strong communication, judgment, and decision-making abilities.

  • Knowledge of various medical specialties, including internal medicine, OB/GYN, orthopedics, mental health, and more.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily office-based with exposure to electronic medical systems.

  • Occasional physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

  • May involve exposure to extreme temperatures, airborne particles, or loud noise during operational visits.
