Pipe Fitter Helper

Job Overview

Slater Infrastructure Group is hiring Sprinkler Pipe Fitter Helpers to support infrastructure projects at U.S. military bases. This travel-intensive role involves working with fire suppression systems. Ideal for physically fit candidates with pipefitting experience who are open to working in outdoor and demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drain fire sprinkler systems and AFFF bladder tanks (2″–36″ pipeworks)

  • Collect AFFF concentrations in DOT-approved containers

  • Operate a 3-ton forklift (certification required)

  • Connect and adjust piping in trenches and mechanical rooms

  • Perform heavy lifting (50 lbs+), walk steep slopes, and work in extreme weather

  • Clean work areas, fuel equipment, and handle on-site logistics

  • Drive company vehicles long distances between military project sites

  • Communicate professionally with team and client personnel

  • Work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays if needed

Requirements

  • Forklift Certification (3-ton forklift operation)

  • Valid driver’s license and passport

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Must pass military background check and drug screen

  • Capable of working on steep slopes and in physically intensive environments

  • Willingness to travel and be part of a field crew for 4–5 months

  • Eligible for CAC (Common Access Card) after background review

Compensation & Perks

  • Pay: $19.00 to $25.00/hour based on experience

  • All travel and truck expenses are covered

  • Experience working on federal infrastructure projects
