Pipefitter (Grades 4 – 6)

Job Overview:

We are hiring a Mid-Level Pipefitter to support shipyard operations in the United States. This role involves working on the fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing of ship piping systems using welded, brazed, or mechanical methods. Assignments may be in shipboard areas or production buildings.

A physical job task analysis will be available during the interview process. All hires must be able to meet those requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, assemble, and install ship piping systems

  • Perform testing procedures on completed piping installations

  • Use various methods of joining pipes: welding, brazing, mechanical joints

  • Work with hand and power tools for marine pipefitting

  • Follow blueprints and written technical instructions

  • Adhere to safety and quality standards in shipyard environments

Education and Training

Required (any one of the following):

  • 1–2 years of pipefitting or plumbing experience

  • Mechanical trade background with 1+ year of training

  • Vocational or Trade School certificate

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience & Skills

Required:

  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading

  • Ability to follow written technical directions

  • Must pass physical task requirements

Preferred:

  • Experience in marine pipefitting

  • Skilled in using pipefitting hand tools
