Position Summary

  • Provide leadership and supervision for youth in before and after school programs.

  • Encourage participation in enrichment activities, including arts & crafts, recreation, nature walks, swimming, and character development.

  • Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment while following all YMCA policies and procedures.

  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, school staff, and fellow team members.

  • Support the YMCA’s mission and core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility.

Schedule

  • Shift 1: 6:45 AM – 9:00 AM

  • Shift 2: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise program participants and ensure safety at all times.

  • Plan and lead group activities aligned with YMCA curriculum.

  • Maintain activity areas, equipment, and supplies.

  • Assist with set-up, clean-up, and snack preparation.

  • Provide excellent customer service to families and school partners.

  • Verify authorized pick-ups and follow child safety procedures.

  • Attend staff meetings and required training.

  • Serve as a positive role model for children and families.

Qualifications

  • At least 16 years old.

  • Prior experience working with children preferred.

  • CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (must be obtained before employment).

  • Ability to work with diverse populations.

  • Energetic, dependable, and enthusiastic about youth development.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to actively lead and participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
