Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Plumber to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) contract at HMP Holme House, Stockton-on-Tees. This permanent Plumber role offers a stable, on-site position with excellent facilities including free parking and public transport access. The position requires working 1 in 3 weekends on a rota, rewarded with an extra 15% of your basic salary. Join Amey and help maintain safe, efficient, and clean prison environments across England and Wales.
Plumber Key Responsibilities
As a Plumber, your day-to-day duties will include:

Performing routine and emergency plumbing maintenance

Fault-finding and replacing life-expired equipment

Conducting water sampling, risk assessments, and mains supply repairs

Completing statutory compliance checks and records

Supporting environmental and zero-carbon initiatives

Ensuring all work meets health & safety and prison security standards
Skills & Experience Needed for a Plumber
To succeed as a Plumber, you’ll need:

A full UK driving licence

NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating (Level 2 considered)

Practical experience in plumbing maintenance

Experience operating light plant equipment
-
Desirable: Legionella Control (L8) certification and commercial environment experience
