As a Plumber at Sodexo, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the hospital estate runs smoothly and safely. Based at Manchester Foundation Trust Hospital, you’ll carry out critical repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance across HVAC, water, gas, and BMS systems. You’ll be part of a collaborative team providing essential services that impact patient wellbeing and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, water, and drainage systems across the hospital

• Ensure safe operation of plant and mechanical equipment

• Complete installations and technical repairs to a high standard

• Diagnose faults using BMS and CAFM systems

• Comply with all health and safety standards including COSHH, fire safety, and infection control

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors

• Provide expert advice and collaborate with the wider facilities team

What You’ll Bring

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing

• Experience working with HVAC, Medical Gas, Heating, or BMS systems

• Proficiency in technical diagnostics, system repairs, and fault finding

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation

• Skilled in using CAFM/BMS systems

• Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills

• A proactive and solution-focused mindset

• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
