Position Summary

The Plumber provides customer service by maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing and mechanical systems across hospital facilities. This includes plumbing fixtures, steam systems, medical gas systems, fire sprinklers, and related equipment. The role supports both daily maintenance and project installations while ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Hours: 4:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: 555 N Duke Street, Lancaster, PA


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and install piping, fixtures, and drainage systems.

  • Service domestic, heating, and cooling water systems, including pumps, valves, and balancing components.

  • Install and repair plumbing fixtures (sinks, water fountains, washer sanitizers, etc.).

  • Maintain and repair steam system components, kitchen equipment, and water generators.

  • Troubleshoot and repair medical gas and vacuum systems.

  • Inspect and maintain fire protection sprinkler and water distribution systems.

  • Review blueprints, prepare sketches, and recommend system improvements.

  • Collaborate with other trades as needed and participate in on-call duties.


Qualifications

  • Journeyman Plumbing License (required – Department of Housing, Plumbing Division) or equivalent experience.

  • Valid PA Driver’s License required.

  • Minimum experience requirements:

    • 1 year in plumbing installation (sewer and supply).

    • 1 year with steam systems.

    • 1 year with heating and cooling systems.

    • 1 year repairing pumps and motors.

    • 2 years welding experience.

    • 1 year with fire sprinkler systems.

    • 1 year with medical gas systems.

    • 1 year with metal work.
