This role supports school operations by applying technical plumbing knowledge, following established procedures, and completing assigned tasks with safety and efficiency. Work includes the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and prioritize plumbing work orders; develop plans to address issues.

  • Source and acquire supplies from warehouse or vendors, referencing diagrams as needed.

  • Communicate and coordinate with staff, ensuring safety of self and others at all times.

  • Prepare and clean up job sites; properly dispose of waste and flammable materials.

  • Install and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, faucets, lavatories, urinals, drinking fountains, showers, valves, and emergency eye wash stations.

  • Install, replace, and repair hot water heaters, boilers, and heat exchangers.

  • Diagnose and repair boiler controls, hot water systems, relays, switches, and circuit boards.

  • Install, repair, test, and certify cross-connection control devices.

  • Replace faulty electrical components in plumbing systems.

  • Test, locate, and repair natural gas and air-line leaks.

  • Investigate and resolve sewer gas odors affecting indoor air quality.

  • Repair, replace, and install new piping and fittings (domestic hot, waste, vent, irrigation, and swimming pools).

  • Assist with snow removal efforts as needed, on a 24/7 on-call basis.

  • Respond to plumbing and facility emergencies 24/7.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License; must meet district insurability standards

  • Must live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (with or without accommodations)
