Position Overview

We are seeking a Plumbing Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot plumbing systems throughout the hotel. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in plumbing codes and standards, capable of innovative problem-solving, and committed to ensuring safe and efficient hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing repairs (clogged drains, copper pipe, washers, handles, drain fittings, etc.)

• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams

• Trace and repair various types of water lines

• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment

• Maintain preventive maintenance and repair records

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes

• Supervise plumbing projects and provide innovative solutions

• Conduct site inspections to assess systems and recommend improvements

• Assist with cost estimates and proposals

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; trade school or college coursework preferred

• Minimum 1 year of hotel or related field experience (progressive experience preferred)

• Strong understanding of plumbing codes and repair techniques

• Ability to lift/push/pull heavy objects (50–100 lbs as needed)

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate initiative

• Flexible schedule, including long hours when required

• Must adhere to Highgate Hotel Standards, including grooming, uniform, and attendance requirements
