Job Title: Plumbing Assessor – Home Based with Regional Travel

About the Role
As a Plumbing Assessor, you will provide high-quality assessment and support to apprentices and employers within your regional area, ensuring the success of apprentice placements and development. This role involves close liaison with employers, schools, and learners to promote plumbing careers and support apprentices through their training journey to qualification.
Key Responsibilities

Source and manage apprentice placements with employers, ensuring full understanding of responsibilities

Conduct apprentice reviews, skills gap analyses, and ensure accurate registration on correct pathways

Carry out assessments of evidence against National Occupational Standards (NOS) in line with TAQA

Provide constructive feedback and set SMART targets for apprentices

Monitor apprentice progress, identify risks of non-completion, and arrange interventions

Support apprentices through end-point assessments and pre-EPA training

Promote JTL services and build strong working relationships with employers and external parties

Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with requirements

Ensure compliance with safeguarding, Prevent duty, and Health & Safety policies
Person Specification
Essential:
-
Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing, Plumbing NVQ3 or equivalent
-
Current ACS Gas Qualification (or within renewal range)

Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing or equivalent

Assessor qualification (D32, D33, A1, or TAQA)

Minimum 2 years relevant plumbing experience post-qualification

GCSE English & Maths A-C / 9-4 (or equivalent)

Strong IT, administrative, and organisational skills
Desirable:

IOSH Managing Safely or similar Health & Safety qualification

G3 Qualification – Unvented Hot Water
-
Knowledge of Water Regulations and Energy Efficiency
