Role Summary

We are currently seeking a PMO Lead (Director) to join our Glasgow Project Controls team, focusing on the delivery of major infrastructure and defence programmes in Scotland. This is an opportunity to lead PMO strategy, drive performance improvement, and shape the delivery of complex and high-profile programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a fully integrated Programme Management Office (PMO) across a major defence infrastructure portfolio.

  • Oversee and embed the core PMO disciplines:

    • Planning & Scheduling

    • Risk Management

    • Cost Control

    • Change Control

    • Reporting & Baseline Management

  • Align PMO operations with client objectives and the broader portfolio strategy.

  • Drive performance, governance, and reporting across multiple programmes.

  • Manage resourcing, skills development, and PMO capability building.

  • Ensure tools, systems, and processes are standardised and compliant with best practice.

  • Proactively address integration issues between delivery workstreams and programme phases.

  • Provide leadership across assurance, compliance, and performance monitoring.

Candidate Requirements

Security Clearance:
Due to the sensitive nature of the work, you must be a sole UK national and able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). More details: UK Government Vetting Guidelines

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience leading PMO or Controls functions on major infrastructure programmes (defence sector preferred).

  • Strong knowledge and application of planning tools, particularly Primavera P6.

  • Skilled in project controls disciplines, governance structures, and programme integration.

  • Confident communicator with excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Understanding of project lifecycle and controls across engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office and controls-related systems.

  • Deep understanding of construction management processes and commercial delivery in an infrastructure context.
