What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced individual for a technical leadership role, ideally with a background as a Technical Principal, Engineering Manager, Practice Lead, or Lead Engineer. The ideal candidate will be passionate about modern engineering best practices and committed to empowering clients through knowledge transfer, coaching, training, and upskilling.

As a Technical Principal, you will be accountable for ensuring delivery excellence for our clients. You will build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted strategic advisor, and drive overall engagement success. Internally, this role will also focus on fostering positive team morale, providing individual feedback, and managing staffing needs for engagements. You may oversee 4-8 team members, ranging from Associate Engineers to Tech Leads.

What You’ll Do

This is a player-coach role, where you’ll be both hands-on in solving technical problems and guiding others to do the same.

Your expertise will span several areas, and while not all skills are mandatory, your contributions will be key to the success of our engagements. Here are the key responsibilities:

Delivery Excellence

  • Execution & Customer Experience: Ensure the successful delivery of contractual obligations, deliverables, and documentation while providing an excellent customer experience.

  • Delivery Strategy: Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to develop and evolve the strategy for DevOps engagements.

  • Trusted Advisor: Guide clients on best practices, provide strategic insights, advocate for DevOps culture, and help remove barriers to progress.

  • Client Relationship: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.

  • Technical Contribution: Architect solutions, solve complex engineering challenges, and collaborate with both internal and client teams.

  • Customer Feedback: Gather feedback, conduct regular check-ins, and measure outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.

Team Development

  • Morale & Alignment: Oversee team morale and well-being, ensuring alignment with engagement goals.

  • Direct Reports: Mentor and coach 4-8 team members, providing real-time feedback, supporting career development, and conducting regular performance reviews.

  • Accountability: Ensure accurate time tracking, adherence to contractual obligations, and offer assistance to team members facing challenges.

  • Staffing & Resource Management: Identify and align team capabilities with client needs, and collaborate with leadership to address staffing requirements and prevent burnout.

Liatrio Growth

  • Customer Growth: Support the delivery and sales teams in identifying expansion opportunities and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

  • Internal Development: Contribute to the development of accelerators and other intellectual property to enhance future engagements.

  • Build Systems: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab

  • Cloud-Native Technologies: Kubernetes, Istio

  • Cloud Providers: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure

  • Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, Zipkin, Elasticsearch

  • Source Control Management: Modern SCM tools and branching strategies

  • Application Development: Code review, empathy for developers across the SDLC

Specifics

  • Compensation: Annual base salary ranging from $170,000 to $200,000, depending on experience.

  • Benefits: Full benefits package, including unlimited PTO, funded HSA option, 401(k) match, monthly LiveWell stipend, and quarterly company bonuses.

  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada without sponsorship.

  • Travel: Travel is typically 4-6 times a year, with the potential for more frequent travel depending on the engagement.
