Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, execute, document, and analyze automated software engineering processes in accordance with medical product design controls.

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve engineering efficiency.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to optimize and streamline software engineering workflows.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software automation defects and provide leadership in defect resolution.

  • Conduct root cause analyses and failure investigations; lead design reviews to address issues identified during testing.

  • Define, support, and maintain Linux and Windows-based systems for the development and testing teams.

  • Provide operational IT support in coordination with corporate IT teams.

  • Develop and maintain tools and automation scripts for software verification and validation.

  • Support project planning and track progress to meet program milestones and deadlines.

  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineering staff.

  • Validate software tools used during product development to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain organized and accessible technical records and documentation.

  • Work with software development teams to identify and address cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

  • Use traceability tools to map tests to requirements, use cases, and design documents; update documentation as designs evolve.

  • Apply regulatory standards and guidance related to design verification, validation, and compliance procedures.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, especially in medical device development and FDA-regulated environments, is a strong plus.

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience with virtual environments; familiarity with VMware is preferred.

  • Proficient in source control and configuration management (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).

  • Strong attention to detail and methodical work habits.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
