About the Role
Zillow is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join the Agentic AI team and build advanced multimodal agentic AI technologies. You’ll be responsible for designing and scaling AI assistants capable of perception, reasoning, and decision-making that transform the real estate experience.
Key Responsibilities

Design and prototype multi-agent systems using AgentSDK, LangChain, LangGraph.

Build and scale agentic prototypes (reasoning models, voice APIs, etc.) into production-ready systems.

Mentor engineers and promote responsible AI practices.

Translate complex research into actionable insights for executives and teams.

Lead applied science projects and ensure alignment on priorities and timelines.

Develop processes for experimentation, A/B testing, and deployment balancing innovation and reliability.

Stay current with agentic AI advancements and drive product innovation.
Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with emphasis on LLMs, agentic AI, reinforcement learning, AI planning, or NLP.

7+ years of experience in large-scale ML/AI systems.

Recent experience with agent-based systems, dialogue systems, multi-agent collaboration.

Proven ability to deploy AI services that handle hundreds of millions of daily interactions with high availability and low latency.

Strong track record of delivering production-ready solutions; research publications in top venues are a plus.

Hands-on, adaptable, and collaborative leader with a build–learn–pivot mindset.
