Role Overview

As a Principal Product Manager, you will partner with senior Microsoft teams (CELA, PRA, and others) globally to provide regulatory and governance guidance. This role requires navigating the intersection of regulation, legal frameworks, technology, and customer needs to identify solutions and influence future direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Microsoft senior teams and external regulators to educate, influence, and drive alignment.

  • Translate complex regulatory, governance, and contractual requirements into actionable guidance.

  • Balance customer, regulatory, and Microsoft business needs while driving technical and process improvements.

  • Provide “inside the cloud” insights to Microsoft personnel and customers on compliance and assurance.

  • Collaborate with sales, legal, privacy/risk, engineering, and executive teams to provide advisory support.

  • Use program management skills to implement improvements in Microsoft’s cloud offerings.

  • Exercise judgment in applying conventions and resolving exceptions to standard practices.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND experience in product/service/project/program management or software development, OR equivalent experience.

Preferred

  • Experience with public sector or financial services regulatory bodies.

  • IT industry experience in support, consulting, program management, or technical assurance/audit focus.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud governance features (contracts, websites, regulatory documentation).

  • Understanding of technical features supporting customer regulatory and compliance needs.

  • Consulting or advisory experience in technical matters (e.g., IT audit, IT program planning, change management).

  • Strong influencing skills across IT, engineering, risk, compliance, and legal disciplines.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
